The molybdenum component improves its ability to resist corrosion, while the low carbon percentage makes it easier to weld and shape. Despite this, there is no significant price difference between 316 and 316L stainless steel. Essentially, 316L is a slightly more desirable variation of the 316 stainless steel due to its enhanced features, but it does not come at an extra cost.
