Production Process
The production process of thick wall stainless steel seamless tubes can be classified into two main methods: cold drawing and hot rolling. Cold-rolled seamless steel pipes undergo a more intricate production process compared to hot rolling. Initially, the billet is subjected to three-roll continuous rolling and then undergoes diameter testing after extrusion. It is essential to inspect the surface for any cracks or abnormalities.
Subsequently, a cutting machine is employed to cut the round pipe into approximately one-meter-long billets. These billets then proceed to the annealing process. As part of the annealing, the steel pipes should undergo pickling using an acidic liquid. During the pickling process, special attention should be paid to the presence of excessive bubbles on the surface. If a significant number of bubbles are observed, it indicates that the steel pipe does not meet quality standards.
In terms of appearance, cold-rolled seamless steel pipes appear shorter and have smaller wall thickness compared to hot-rolled counterparts. However, they exhibit a brighter surface finish and are less rough. Additionally, the caliber of cold-rolled pipes tends to have fewer burrs.

Application Areas

H+, HS- and S2- will be ionized in aqueous solution. The corrosion of stainless steel is a hydrogen depolarization process. It is easy to cause hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC), sulfide application corrosion cracking (SSCC) and electrochemical corrosion. It is also accompanied by many changes in conditions such as CO2, NH4+ and CN-content and PH value, resulting in tube rupture failure. Therefore, UNSTP347 stainless steel pipes used in high-temperature, high-pressure and hydrogen-critical environments need to have good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
